I grew up with hunting dogs, particularly pointers, which my mother bred. Later, I continued breeding them myself in Austria under my kennel name "HANNY’S."
For my children, we got our first Pug female, which became the foundation of my breeding program for this charming breed. My breeding has produced multiple Interchampions (FCI).
My husband was the President of the Austrian Club for English Pointers (ÖKEV), and for several years, I served as a breeding advisor. Additionally, I worked as a breeding advisor for more than 15 years in the Austrian Pug Club (ÖMC), where I was one of the founding members. I personally presented my dogs at shows with great success.
I obtained my judging license in the late 1970s, initially for English Pointers under the Austrian Kennel Club (ÖKV). Later, I expanded my qualification to judge the entire FCI Group 7. The process of adding more breeds took several years, which is normal in Austria. Today, I am licensed to judge FCI Groups 6, 7, 8, 9, as well as Tibetan Mastiffs, Shar Peis, and English Bulldogs from FCI Group 2.
I have had the opportunity to judge in almost all European countries, and the farthest invitation I received was to New Zealand to judge Pugs!
Professionally, I am a Veterinary Technician and still actively participate in hunting. Currently, I own an 8-year-old female Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen.
