Junior Handling

Participation in FCI Euro Dog Show Brno 2025

Only a single group aged 10-18 years will be allowed to take part in the Daily Open Junior Handling competitions taking place each day of the FCI European Dog Show.

Participants taking part in the International Open Junior Handling competitions happening each day of FCI European Dog Show, have to be less than 18 years of age on the date of the first day of the Daily Open Junior Handling Competition.

Each day, the judge selects the best three (3) of each Daily Open Junior Handling Competition without placing.

Entries

Only entries made through the online entering system at www.dogoffice.cz will be accepted.

Junior handlers must specify the breed of dog they will be competing with. In case of a change, junior handlers must inform the ring steward before entering the competition.

Participants will receive clear written and published information about the rings and the time schedule for each day of the competition.

Final Junior Handling Competition

The Final Junior Handling Competition will be held on the last day of the FCI European Show in the Main Ring, just before the group competitions and Best in Show program begins. The prejudging will take place in another ring, which will be specified well in advance.

The best junior handlers from the Daily Open Junior Handling Competitions will compete in the Final Junior Handling Competition alongside participants sent by the National Canine Organisations.

The judge will select the best three (3) participants and place them accordingly.

National representation

The representative of each country must be a national citizen of the country they are representing. If the country does not have junior handling activity, it is not allowed to send a candidate to FCI Euro dog show Junior Handling finals.

The official national representatives in the final Junior Handling Competition at the FCI Word and Section shows can be under 19 years of age on the day of the Final Junior Handling Competition.

Registration of the representatives should be done by their “home” kennel club via this REGISTRATION FORM.

Please provide all the information via registration form & end the affidavit from the national kennel club confirming the person chosen as the representative for EDS 2025 to our email: juniorhandling@eds2025.eu.

After obtaining the affidavit and registration form, we will send you a confirmation email regarding your entry.

Regulations

At FCI European dog Show Brno 2025, the following rules apply:

  1. Each Daily Open Competition consists of a preliminary decision competition which takes place in a separate ring, and in a final competition in the afternoon in the main ring.
  2. The junior handler may participate in the Daily Open Competitions each day unless they have already been placed among the best three (3) on a previous Daily Open Competition or they are the official national representative.
  3. The breeds handled in the Junior Handling competition do not necessarily have to be the same as those judged in the European Show on the same day, but dogs handled in Junior Handling must be eligible to be shown at EDS (purebred, no cropped ears, etc.).
  4. Every country (national organisation) is entitled to designate one participant who may compete only in the final competition of the FCI European Dog Show via official email.
  5. The qualified National representative may not compete in the daily qualifying Daily Open Competitions held at the same FCI European dog Show.
  6. In daily qualifying Open Competitions, junior handlers are not required to follow the order of the starting numbers as the dog may be entered in the European Dog Show.
  7. The assisting ring stewards will ensure that not too many juniors are in the ring at the same time and that dogs match in size.
